@db Feel ya! Having Plejd for controlling light switches etc. Bought new lights with "smart" features and the light is great... But, when the internal battery of the lights runs out (aka you have the switch turned off for to long)... Next time you turn the lights on they go in to pairing mode (flashing until pairing is done) 🫪 #fml

@db I have a combination fan and light. Sometimes I have to reset the power for it because just one of those two needs a DHCP renewal...and it's rarely the same one twice. Fortunately it still uses the old switch rather than a relay.

Most of the time I just use the remote that came with it.

same here. a fleet of hundred smart devices is pain to manage.

when design my home next time, i'll make it as dumb and as flexible as possible (to be able to change pipes, wires, partition walls, etc)

@sanityinc @db depends. If we want to do it in parallel, it’s probably O(N). In series it’s going to depend on deadline, budget, spacing between bulbs, and the prevailing overtime laws.
