@hpod16 @EUCommission That’s mildly interesting and all, and wish we could celebrate it. But considering the EU is fighting hard to invade everyone’s privacy by repeatedly trying to introduce Chat Control, age verification checks, and going after VPNs, being on Mastodon feels… Unimportant.

Doesn’t really matter the EU is no longer on X if they’re leaning despotic anyway. Unfortunately there’s no time to congratulate them on these small actions when we are forced to keep constantly fighting them on the fundamental human right to privacy.

As I see it, they can talk about what the commission does and projects being launched, but you can not expect them to respond to questions like that.

Those profound questions should go through your local representative or you address the politicians directly via email.

Uhhh - did I really say that? Hmm. You know, let's read it together and have a closer look.

OK, so I started with:

Hmm. No, I don't see anything about a 1-way broadcast, just that I did not find it likely (the word "probably") that the social media group would be allowed to express political views here. In general, political decisions are expressed through policy, not in social media posts.

Let's read on:

Aha! Here I make it clear that this is my personal view, so this answers your second question: No, this is not an official EU policy. Still nothing about a 1-way broadcast, though.

Again, simply a suggestion to use more suitable channels for your questions. We established above that this was a personal view. Still no 1-way channel here.
