    Aged 55, I decided it was time for a male midlife crisis. I don't drive, love my wife and don't play golf, so instead I got some bunny rabbits. The neighbours now call me 'Bunny Boy'. I don't give a toss. These innocent little creatures bring me huge joy every day.

    @fesshole My brother is a tough, career Army guy. He also loves all animals equally and bakes cookies for his wife's work. I get a lot of trail cam vids from him since they moved to a more rural area. I'm in favor of better masculinity through liberal applications of adorable.

      @fesshole I had rabbits for 10 years (most of those years, I was in my 30s). Over the years, I have had fish, hamsters, cats, dogs, and rabbits. Rabbits win, hand down.

        @fesshole I enjoy the idea that you can just decide to have a midlife crisis

        @lunarloony @fesshole What even is a midlife crisis? I always thought it's being worried and depressed because your life is halfway over. But now it turns it could be being happy with bunny rabits? I love bunny rabits, but that doesn't sound like a crisis to me.

            @fesshole This is the sweetest gd fess I've ever seen.

            And yes, there is something extra pure about rabbits. I used to bring home extra veg from work for my BunBun, and his pure, unadulterated joy for his gift was something I could only ever hope to experience.

                @fesshole this is lovely.

                Also, finding a new hobby doesn’t have to be a mid-life crisis. It can just be a fun new thing to do!

                            @crisps @fesshole It's less about the crisis itself, I think, and more about the fallout that ensues. Guys buying Ferraris and driving around like they're boy racers, for example. Maybe it comes down to doing something that you always wanted to, or regret not doing when you were younger.

                                        @fesshole
                                        My midlife crisis came st the age of 38.
                                        I got bored of spending all my free time out on the road with various friends bands (I was the photographer and occasional "manager" or "promoter" for something like 15 bands), and the alcoholism wasn't helping, so i quit drinking, gave up the rock 'n' roll lifestyle, found myself a nice woman, and settled down to married life and having kids all over the carpet.
                                        18 years later, and ive never been happier.
                                        I some of the bands, I miss the awesome music, and I miss my hair - but I don't miss holding down a full time job while running up and down the country, I don't miss getting nothing more than the odd brief nap for days on end, and i certainly don't miss the epic hangovers, waking up with a every surface in my mouth seemingly covered in coarse sandpaper, and my body feeling like ive done 10 rounds with Mike Tyson and Hulk Hogan, at the same time.
                                        I love waking up next to my wife, spending time with my kids and grandkids, and reminiscing about the old days.

                                          @fesshole My wife got us started with a bunny back in '97, and we've had or fostered bunnies almost continuously since then. They're a blast once you learn to understand their body language.
