@Thebratdragon @urlyman and a mouse (it’d make crossing the floor an interesting exercise)

…I apologise for the lettuce shouting that the above post inflicts upon users of screen readers.

Here is a less shouty version with just the number of lettuces for each PM. 1 lettuce represents roughly 7 weeks of tenure.

          Keir Starmer: 15
          Rishi Sunak: 13
          Liz Truss: 1
          Boris Johnson: 23
          Theresa May: 23
          David Cameron: 46
          Gordon Brown: 21
          Tony Blair: 76
          John Major: 48

9 Prime Ministers, 266 lettuces and almost 36 years later the UK is still on course for an Iceberg 🤪

@urlyman Come on , you can't leave out Maggie Thatcher, weighing in at (I believe) a whopping 86 lettuces?

@floe the post at the top is *exactly* 500 characters. Everyone since has been Thatcherite anyway 🤷‍♂️

                @urlyman

I feel like this is maybe a little unfair to the lettuce. Liz Truss did not last for a full lettuce, the lettuce was still in good health when she resigned.

@The4thCircle hence ‘approximated’. Not sure I’m eager to eat a 7-week old cut lettuce, or older https://mastodon.social/@urlyman/116793332104050568

@shiawase @kbm0 @urlyman Does that mean, you would measure EU politician's tenures in brussel sprouts?

@urlyman Would be an interesting way to vote:
                        1. Voters are ask if they would prefer the contender or the lettuce as PM
                        2. When the lettuce gets a majority, there has to be another round of elections
                        3. Media could present this similar to selecting a new pope ("Nope, lettuce again, no news")

@urlyman Or what would be an unmistakably British way to say "having drawn a blank"?
