@akareilly Perhaps we should require hardware manufacturers to make their drivers open source. Maybe that would fit within the scope of the right to repair?

I think that would really help to give us the possibility to change to an os we like and that provides updates over years.

@orange_lux I think the spike is so small because most people who care about no AI as a feature already have libre office installed.

@Em0nM4stodon I would feel the impact personally as I'm dependent on Google, but I try to decrease this. For work I would be mostly fine but our customers are dependent on Microsoft and Amazon and some of there services they get from as are connected to azure and co. So there will be an impact. Also I don't know about the dependencies the Datacenter and power companies have. Electricity is very important. So the impact will be at least indirectly.
