@bjb I must say a lot of us wear our clothes many times more than twice before washing. My woolen sweaters I have not washed a single time ever for several of them. Underwear directly in contact with skin is the only thing to really wash regularly. Oh wait, my woolen socks... You'd be surprised how little they smell. @thebiologistisn Have you tried to breed for tillering as a trait? @thebiologistisn It's an interesting project and valuable for places like mine where the growing season is relatively short too. Here, I am just adapting my grain corn to a new location with very different soil and water conditions than before. The cobs were tiny last year compared to earlier, but I've seen the improvements before so I will continue to locally adapt it.

@thebiologistisn You mean that the corn matures so fast in your area that you can go from seed to cob two times per seasons? I am surprised that's possible

@ah Hybrids, muts (gadekryds) and "farm breeds" are my favorite pet animals too by far. They're not inbred and tend to live longer, be more healthy and don't have as many weird side effects from out-of-place breeding criteria (like the many tiny bag dogs that were originally bred to be warning dogs so they bark constantly).

@evan No, I don't know about it. Did it make you get hopeful thoughts?

@evan Yes, but in the same way as comfort food doesn't really nourish me afterwards. I rarely think hopeful thoughts inspired by the Star Wars universe.
