I wonder if @futurebird has an idea of the species from this rather blurry image? iNaturalist proposes a number of species with Formica rufa as most likely. It was relatively large and mound-building.

@siggi Yes, that's true. Part of us are also longing for community - finding others who feel like us - when we complain, condemn and express indignation. And the curious thing is that complaining is highly contagious. It can spread! What I don't like about that is that the powerlessness also gets reinforced. It pulls us down and that's a community I'd rather not be part of. I'm happy you bring in demonstrations, as that is very much on my mind too.

@johnrohde Yes, I think a fitting description of what I'm researching is the classical mechanics of human systems. I'm not sure it is a metaphor, so I'll keep that as an open question! Myself, I'm leaning on the hypothesis that there's a physical dimension to all human systems and that the physical concepts are the same. There's something particular to the physics of human interactions, but the physical laws are generally isomorphic.
