A report by Haaretz, based on newly declassified archival documents, revealed that contacts took place between armed Jewish groups active in Mandatory Palestine prior to the establishment of 'Israel' and representatives of Nazi Germany.
According to the documents, some Zionist militias sought to open channels of communication with the German side as part of complex strategic calculations during that historical period.
The published material explains that these contacts, according to the files, did not necessarily constitute a formal alliance, but rather reflected attempts by certain parties to exploit international contradictions at the time in pursuit of political goals related to the project of establishing a Jewish state.
