People, if you ever lose your phone, do the low tech thing and CALL IT before you start activating remote alarms and the tracking bullshit.
I found some kid’s phone by the side of the road. It’s locked.
After a few hours he sets his Find My iPhone to stolen phone mode so it begins klanging. At the same time he tries to text the phone, but I can’t read them because 1) phone’s locked and 2) When find my iPhone is set to red alert mode, I can’t see anything and I have this obnoxious screaming slab that’s using up what little power it has left so on top my troubles, now I have to find a charger for it.
Also I turn it off to save my sanity, which means the owner couldn’t get confirmation the phone was in our house. After I got it recharged, I power it back up and it begins blaring again. I figure the owner might be near by now so I walk outside and find the owner’s dad parked by our mailbox. I hand him his son’s screeching phone that by now, I wanted to smash with a hammer.
