I always thought the two most impressive things to be able to draw/paint is translucency & light - like, yes, I know it's "just using color in the right way" but creating the illusion that something is see-through, or giving the impression of a light source (I once saw an Edvard Munch painting of the sun that literally made me squint my eyes) with "just colors"... an amazing skill

@blackfire I'm already using Reaper the trick is running non-linux VST plugins with it - I think I have it working now though, as far as the test goes anyway. Thanks for the Affinity guide, looks a bit above my pay grade but it might still help. I will not be switching; to me there is no alternative.

@shauna A bolognaise, just replace the meat with lentils - green, puy or beluga all works. Add some finely chopped mushrooms (champignon is fine) for umami. Lentils at least doubles weitght whild cooking. You can also add some extra veggies, like pastinak, sellery, finely chopped. Using cumin is also good for umami, and some vegetable stock.
