@CiaraNi I like the idea of 'Baby's First Wiki Row'.

@mrundkvist The problem (as I experience it) is that they are not making an objection on the relevant content page. They have, not for the first time, turned up on my user page with unsolicited 'advice' about how I can be a better Wikipedian and share better photos that meet the wiki-guidelines. If they want to object, I think the process is simple - they can use the content page and be specific and nominate for deletion, then the community (in which I greatly trust) can decide.

@CiaraNi And we'd refer to the candles as 'burns'.

@mrundkvist I don't want to escalate really. I normally just ignore, but something about it bugged me enough to reply directly to his post on my page. I think it's because it's Wiki. It's about sharing free resources as a community and helping each other in collaboration, so a veteran putting a newcomer down with condescension and territorial behaviour seems counter-productive. If he has a point, it's lost in the way he delivered it and just makes me think I'm not arsed doing more Wiki-stuff.

@nichni @CiaraNi They should also make cards for "I finally deleted my LinkedIn account today!", maybe more people would leave that twisted, useless place.

@WikimediaIE @ticho @nichni And if called out on it, you could point out that it adheres to the LinkedIn Bro claim that we can be self-made and that being self-made is laudable - that we each can do anything and achieve anything and be whatever we want. Including the self-made emperor of some island off the coast of Antarctica.

And the socially clumsy guys actually mostly do their very best. It's just that they aren't great at that sort of thing. So don't take any bullying. 👍

The project isn't all bad though. In this day and age, it's more important than ever. Lots of lovely smart people too. And the socially clumsy guys actually mostly do their very best. It's just that they aren't great at that sort of thing. So don't take any bullying. 👍

@mrundkvist @henrikmillinge The project is excellent. And now more than ever, as you say - that's why I started trying to contribute only recently, inspired by the way the world is. Precisely because it is so good and so community-based, the reply-guys and mansplainers feel like an especially unnecessary drain on both individual and community energy.
