@FediTips boosting this, in the hope that others mute my boosts. I imagine I get pretty annoying if anyone's paying attention....

@FediTips this is such an obviously-useful feature…I remember struggling with "I like what this person personally posts but they retweet too much stuff I don't care a whit for" over on :birdsite:

Bonus, but app specific to fedilab: You can long-press the home timeline (house icon) button to disable boosts altogether, among a few other settings. -

@FediTips kinda ironic if someone learns this because of a boost.

I resemble that remark! Well, except for the "posts interesting stuff" part. Boost early, boost often!

Here is an additional tip for people following this account. 99% of the posts this account makes are boosts, but if you turn off boosts, instead most of our posts are linking you to new punks on BMorePunk.
This account rarely makes other types of posts (like this post).

@FediTips The lack of this feature literally kept me from using Bluesky.

@mo I probably couldn't fathom people knowing how to _and_ not having muted my excessive boosting

I misinterpreted what that option was for...
Is there a way to suppress multiple boosts of the same post and only show it once? -

@FediTips This is really useful. It takes a bit of work to keep what you see on M like messages from friends, instead of just a "feed", and this trick helps.

I'd like to hide stuff *I* boosted. I saw it, I boosted it. Why do I need to see my own boost (or anyone else's boost of the exact same link or toot) *again*? Saw it, liked it (probably), boosted it - for me, I'm done with it.

@FediTips
As a notoriously prolific Mastodon booster, I for one, applaud your publication of this one simple trick for keeping boosts from specific people to a reasonable level in one's feed.
I wouldn't want people to block me 4 being a boostalotopotamus, and withbTHIS tip, they won't need to.
Also, friends know that friends boost mastodon posts to be friendly and to have them seen, too.
Bong hits 4 Jesus.
