Heyo, quick question. We'd like to enable, but we have concern with the "reduces reach" note in the panel, especially as a smaller instance. Do you have anything abt how that might affect us? We don't want to accidentally cut our users out of the social aspect of the fedi.

@Overgoddess @FediTips Some softwares and older versions of Mastodon don't support it. So you'd cut them out. That's all it means. It's on all the time by default for GoToSocial, so basically anything that also federates with it should federate with you.

Yeah, Olifant is right
Nowadays it should work fine with almost all servers. I have been using Authorized Fetch for several years now on my own server and have not had any complaints. (When I first switched it on, I'd asked people in advance to let me know if it caused problems and it didn't.)
