@fencepost @GossiTheDog when I was 40 I joined a company with about 150 staff. Turned out I was the oldest employee. I commented that "It's like Logan's Run here" and no one knew what I was talking about because none of them were old enough to have seen it!
I felt old that day.

It says this information won't be saved, and there doesn't seem to be any verification of it, but given the way the laws are going I don't think it will be too much longer before the big operators like mastodon.social are required to join in the new ID verification schemes.
There should always be a place for small, private servers, but anyone the governments decide is "commercial" is going to have to give in at some point unless we can stop all of these ID schemes and roll back the ones already in place.
