@Su_G @DrALJONES No more than a puppet of the blairite right wing....leader of a 'labour' party stripped of it's left wing.
I'm 73yo, and as a youth I believed the Labour Party to be the home of socialism, a protector of the working class, a defender of the poor and under-privileged, and rabidly supported them by me.
With the advent of blair, and his policy of out-torying the tories, I realised the so-called 'new labour' was a smoke screen for the right wing of Labour to operate behind.

@wood5y @Su_G @DrALJONES To the tune of the 'Red Flag', (which was once the Labour Party's anthem):
The working class can kiss my arse,
I'm in Westminister at last!So very true of this current gang of champagne socialists in the 'labour party'.

@Oyu_Fka @Su_G @DrALJONES It's no longer the party 3 generations of my family have supported and/or served.

Ditto our so-called Australian Labor Party (still terrified of Murdoch):

@DrALJONES @Oyu_Fka @Su_G I would class someone murdering Nasty Uncle Rupert as justifiable homicide.

@wood5y @Su_G @DrALJONES You're right there....I'm 73yo, and rabidly supported the Labour Party in my youth, but no more.
I have lived in the South Wales valleys all my life, voted Labour - without question - bc I had trust in them....until blair became leader, (and still pulling the strings in the background, imho).
Up to now, I've usually spoiled my vote by writing 'None of the above', but this time I'm voting Green in the upcoming Welsh elections - they are the Left wing in the UK now.

@DrALJONES @wood5y @Su_G Boosted and favourited on your behalf

@DrALJONES @wood5y @Su_G I haven't researched it, but I heard something about the Welsh elections will be based on some form of proportional representation, which worries me in that some seats in the Senedd, (Welsh Parliament), will be allocated to the reform fascists - this cannot happen.
This is the one time I support 'First past the post'....we don't need any grifters over here, lol!

@Oyu_Fka @DrALJONES @Su_G Yes, PR will be used for the Senedd elections, but all the indications since the #Caerffili by-election point to Plaid keeping out the Farage Fan Club.

@wood5y @DrALJONES @Su_G Plaid won there bc their representative had been a plaid councillor there for donkey's years, whereas the reform clown had no history there.
It's nothing like a safe bet, voting plaid....I mean, even their comment here is in Welsh - I don't know what it says, (
or care for that matter, lol!).I live in the actual valleys, and I can assure you there's plenty of people up here that are racist by nature and would welcome reform. It's frightening

Australia uses preferential (ranked-choice) voting.
It means you can vote for minor parties without being a "spoiler" or "wasting" your vote.
Eg if you vote 1 greens, but they fail to get a majority, your vote goes to your second choice. And so on.
It puts a lot of pressure on corrupt duopolies & can lead to green-labour, etc. coalitions
