    @nichni @CiaraNi They should also make cards for "I finally deleted my LinkedIn account today!", maybe more people would leave that twisted, useless place.

    @ticho @nichni @CiaraNi wanna do more? Update your profile with faux info. Make yourself the emperor of some island off the coast of Antarctica

      @CiaraNi
      #Wikipedia is chock full of men who consider themselves well-meaning but have clinically significant social impairments.

        @ticho @CiaraNi Some people I know use it for flirting. Maybe the most productive application.

          @mrundkvist I don't want to escalate really. I normally just ignore, but something about it bugged me enough to reply directly to his post on my page. I think it's because it's Wiki. It's about sharing free resources as a community and helping each other in collaboration, so a veteran putting a newcomer down with condescension and territorial behaviour seems counter-productive. If he has a point, it's lost in the way he delivered it and just makes me think I'm not arsed doing more Wiki-stuff.

          @CiaraNi @mrundkvist This is exactly one of the reasons I left Wikipedia after fifteen years as an editor.

            @nichni @CiaraNi "Heyyy baby, wanna hustle 25/8 together? Let's synergize our portfolios sometimes!" Blech. 🤮

            Let's just leave the LLM bots and virtue-signalling middle manager scum to themselves, they'll be happy there.

                @CiaraNi @mrundkvist That would be a shame for you to quit. I'm going to guess this guy wouldn't try that behaviour with a newbie male Wikipedian.

                  @WikimediaIE @ticho @nichni And if called out on it, you could point out that it adheres to the LinkedIn Bro claim that we can be self-made and that being self-made is laudable - that we each can do anything and achieve anything and be whatever we want. Including the self-made emperor of some island off the coast of Antarctica.

                      @henrikmillinge @mrundkvist It is so counter-productive. Driving away veterans with all your experience, who have been contributing voluntarily for 15 years. Policing and putting off newcomers with constant negative comments and unsolicited 'advice'. A shame.

                        The project isn't all bad though. In this day and age, it's more important than ever. Lots of lovely smart people too. And the socially clumsy guys actually mostly do their very best. It's just that they aren't great at that sort of thing. So don't take any bullying. 👍

                          @mrundkvist @henrikmillinge The project is excellent. And now more than ever, as you say - that's why I started trying to contribute only recently, inspired by the way the world is. Precisely because it is so good and so community-based, the reply-guys and mansplainers feel like an especially unnecessary drain on both individual and community energy.

                            @CiaraNi @ticho I guess "meeting for a cup of coffee" can mean different things to different people (?) 😉
