so it is authentic

not for the dystopian or frightening quality of the project, it does turn many off
i admire him for committing so heavily to a vision, whatever the vision
how many of us have passing visions, we amuse ourselves with it and then... nothing. it passes to oblivion

@benroyce The safety features are just so bizarre. It can be equipped with extra large horns so it cannot go through standard doors, and the emergency stop is shooting at it with a gun.
This has to be made by a diabolical alliance between techbros and hillbillies.

@benroyce @Guillotine_Jones @fruchti The look of the thing really makes me think it’s a piece of artwork, not a mechanism. Too smooth, too graceful looking. Compare to the legs on any iRobot device and they look aesthetically pleasing in comparison.

@benroyce I was at a conference a few weeks back where they had cute little robot dogs walking around and even those freaked me out. Not ready for this future…

he articulates plausible reasons for the design choices (even the horns: he doesn't want it going indoors, he wants it to get stuck in doors)
"satyress" does sound like satire but it's a real word: it's a woman satyr
@benroyce I appreciate his engineering skills, and we can not expect every engineer to have the design chops of da Vinci. At the end of the day, this iron horsy girl isn't more ludicrous than, say, Elmo's two legged storm trooper robots.
