You're probably right. But there's still the pinching. <shudders> That would be awful regardless of gender.
@Sassinake @benroyce @alice @cynthiarose
BTW, this is all Ben's fault. I take no responsibility for my own actions.

@Space_Burger_Steve @Sassinake @alice
zero doubt
when i said "i don't know about canada" i didn't mean "that barbaric place of unclean bums" i meant "i'm american but i'm not going to be that stereotypical arrogant asshole that speaks on behalf of experiences and situations in other countries"
i would assume bidet use in canada is prevalent. but i just don't know, so i won't speak on canada's behalf
is canada as in-sink garbage disposal mad as the usa too?
@benroyce @Sassinake @alice No worries, I didn't take it like that at all, it's cool. I'm pretty sure garbage disposals exist in Canada, but I've never seen one, they're definitely not standard in BC. Honestly, I've seen more places with septic tanks and septic fields, and the deal with those is to flush as little as possible, so you wouldn't want to have a garburator at the same time.
-
@msbellows there are no dumb (honest) questions.
-
@alice @Sassinake I’ve only seen a bidet in a few people's homes, since you need a large bathroom for one. The cheapest option is a bidetta connected to the same water valve as the toilet. It only provides cold water, but I used one for years before renovating my bathroom.

That really makes me wonder now about the whole "chainmail bikini" thing. Can you imagine the pinching? And hair pulling? I think it'd be better to get stabbed.
@Perrin42 they're typically lined with leather, fur, cloth, etc...but still rather uncomfortable compared to modern sports bras.
-
@ColesStreetPothole @alice @benroyce
Why did you mention your sister, then, if you have you own in your huge bathroom in your own house?
@Sassinake @alice @benroyce Because she lives in Canada and I do not. And what is it with "huge" bathroom? It's tiny?
-
@benroyce @alice @cynthiarose @Sassinake
How did this conversation get from bidets to chainmail underwear? Oh, right.

most everything goes in the compost bin now, if the city picks it up

I was about to say... I was looking for the comic about the man wearing a chainmail bikini as armor, then saw people actually sell them on etsy. Not all of them looked like they had lining.

-
@msbellows everyone is allowed on the water park ride if they want to give it a try. @alice isn't your real boss.
@th oh, far be it from me to police a good time! Have at it ball-owners!

This bidet remote on the wall of the house in the woods I'm staying at has some bizarre controls...
- boob wash
- water-park ride
- options menu
- multiplayer select- volume control
- channel selector
- smoking instructions?I tried the boob wash and was not disappointed, but it took me like two minutes to figure out the little square LED on the left was the off-button.
@alice In the late '70s, my dad worked for a boating magazine, and got sent to cover the Miami Boat Show. He took me and my brother along, as well as our step-mom. There was apparently some mix-up with the reservations, however, and as compensation the grown-ups were booked into something called the Coconut Grove Junior Swinger Suite. I recall wall-to-wall black shag carpeting, a round bed on a pedestal beneath an array of lights and mirrors, and, in the bathroom, a large jetted bathtub and a second not-quite-a-toilet thing next to the definitely-a-toilet thing.
Curiosity got the better of eleven-year-old me, and rather than ask what the second thing was, I turned the handle on it. A jet of water shot out straight up out of it and splattered across the bathroom ceiling. It was then explained to me what a bidet was, and what it was for, and that, no, the water going into one's butt at such high velocity would not come out one's nose.
I was skeptical.

I also have fairly severe sleep deprivation, which is in some ways better than drugs. I've also never done drugs.

because you don't have worms like our ancestors did. with that insight, what a blessed time we live in (in some regards)

@morton mine at home is a little box that replaces the normal seat/lid, and taps into the water line going to the toilet. It was pretty inexpensive and easy to install (my girlfriend did it).
