@ScottMGS For example, if Facebook supported this, you would be able to link to your Facebook account on your Mastodon profile and your Masto account on your Facebook profile, and they could both turn green. You wouldn't need a website yourself, you could verify your account based on an account on another platform.But because the big tech companies refuse to use the standard, this isn't possible.(All they would have to do is include the phrase rel=me in their platform's social links.)

@f The verification system checks on your website to see if it has linked back to your account.If there's no website, there is nothing for the verification system to check.So, you need a website, or you need some organisation you belong to to have a website.

@RiekeP The official apps sort of support Lists, but their support isn’t as good as the web and selected third party apps.The official iPhone/iPad Mastodon app lets you view lists but not create them or add to them.I would advise using the website or third party apps instead (Mona supports lists on iPad for example). The web interface and the third party apps are generally better than the official app anyway.Your server's website is at https://mstdn.social
