@rrgeorge Yup, the admin can switch them off at their discretion. (I've included instructions in the guide on how admins can do this as it's not very obvious.)It really depends on the server whether invitations are appropriate or not, it's the admin's call to decide.

It's rare that they don't delete.If an instance is not deleting federated posts, you might want to ask the admin of the remote instance if they are aware of this failure. It may be a technical fault that they can correct.If the remote admin refuses to fix the problem, you might want to tell your own instance admin about it and they may take action regarding the remote instance such as limiting or suspension.
