yeah the warp 5 speed limit episode is the one I'm discussing in the OP

remember when TNG established that warp travel is causing space climate change and then the writers proceeded to never mention it again except to say that they're ignoring it? -
remember when TNG established that warp travel is causing space climate change and then the writers proceeded to never mention it again except to say that they're ignoring it?I don't recall the TNG movies that clearly but I feel like I would remember if they said that explicitly, idk

remember when TNG established that warp travel is causing space climate change and then the writers proceeded to never mention it again except to say that they're ignoring it?or Voyager
i get different people running a different show not wanting to carry your baggage, but Voyager was mostly the same people who were left at TNG by s7

remember when TNG established that warp travel is causing space climate change and then the writers proceeded to never mention it again except to say that they're ignoring it?most people forget about it because it was in s7 (a generally underwhelming season) and an underwhelming episode generally

remember when TNG established that warp travel is causing space climate change and then the writers proceeded to never mention it again except to say that they're ignoring it?there could have been so many stories borne from this concept!
the federation is shown to be at a disadvantage to their adversaries for following the speed limit
evil admiral wants to abolish the speed limit and causes space disasters
Romulans have a space disaster in their territory becuase they ignore the speed limit and the federation moves in to help
so many possibilities

remember when TNG established that warp travel is causing space climate change and then the writers proceeded to never mention it again except to say that they're ignoring it?yeah, they establish that warp travel has cumulative deleterious effects on space and can cause space disasters and at the end of the episode they're all like "wow nothing will ever be the same, we're instituting a warp speed limit of warp 5"
and then only mention it a couple times after that episode and even then only to explain "well this is an emergency so obviously we're ignoring the speed limit"

remember when TNG established that warp travel is causing space climate change and then the writers proceeded to never mention it again except to say that they're ignoring it?yeah like nobody forced them to write that story, but they did it and then didn't even bother to take advantage of it
in real life problems are a bad thing but for storytelling problems are what gives life to a story

it's so funny how it accidentally recreated the liberal response to climate change
