Red is spending, green is revenue.
@GossiTheDog It's a huge gamble. I think AI will create enormous value, but enough to justify company's valuations? I really hope so. I don't know.

According to Sam Altman, it's a rent-seeking economic activity, that will enrich billionaires beyond their wildest fantasies.
According to Koch Network, it's wasteful fossil fuel burner with a side of automated disinformation & election meddling.
According to tech oligarchs like Larry Ellison, Andreessen, Peter Thiel, & Elon Musk, it is a democracy destroyer.
For the oil industry, it's money laundering.

@GossiTheDog right but ultimately, are they losing money or are they losing ours (public money)? How much public spending goes into AI worldwide? Why should they continue this business model if its not profitable?
Just wait till the bailouts roll in.

@GossiTheDog I love this site and am also sharing it but I’d love more sources… so here’s the similarly themed https://www.wheresyoured.at/ais-economics-dont-make-sense/ which is both human-made and lists sources.

@GossiTheDog and which trillion dollar tech company isn’t anywhere in this scheme?
Broadcom. They will only be affected indirectly because of idiot investors who will flee tech when the bubble collapses. And they don’t even play with A”I” and GPUs. What they’ve developed are infrastructure chips. And those will survive.
