                      @cbecker @nyhan Whoever wrote that policy has perhaps never written a paper. Writing is an integral part of doing research.

                      How about developing dedicated tools for uncritical writing-related tasks such as spell checking? And not call them AI? They would then *automatically* be outside of the scope of AI policies. A simple and smart move! We should have thought of this long ago.

                        @cbecker as the result of such a policy, i wonder how many regular reviewers for acm journals/conferences will refuse to do this task. it will be at least one (counting myself).
