        @dev

        They really are dead upstairs, and they just move money back and forth like tides and moons. They don't even need to wake-up (sober-up) to succeed in banking, meaningless as they've made it all.
        The offices and desks are just to make us think they have a purpose in it.

          What if we just replace ASI with "Labor"

          The true source of value is the workers inside the factory

            @heavyimage @dan @steve @dev also putting in a good word for the episode of Well There's Your Problem on military powerpoint, which has some real goodies in it and plenty of context from a service member about the sort of environment that creates some of them (while still being baffled at a few of their specimens)

              @heavyimage @steve @dev yes, this must be where I got the idea!

              Like the article says, the best is when they start trying to explain and analyze purely abstract concepts. I remember reading one about “commander’s intent”. Not any specific commander’s intent, but the very idea of intent itself.

              They are truly powerpointing at a level the rest of us cannot even comprehend.

                @dev its interesting to see the robotics bubble also get acknowledged. Those humanoid robots in the illustration have no use case. Roboticists fear the next AI winter will also be a robotics winter. Non-humanoid robots are actually useful, so maybe they'll escape it.

                The coming AI winter will make the previous two look like minor summer squalls. It will unfortunately kill a lot of real research, not just the LLM spicy autocorrect.

                  I just posted my favorite image from the essay where it almost becomes like an illustration in a linguistic philosophy paper. I too bow to this level of power pointing.

                    Maybe battlespace awareness is like an infohazard in that once you encounter the concept you are perpetually finding new aspects it that must be explored (graphically).
