@sxa @openbenches Ah okay!I would assume that you would need to reauthorise from the new server. As far as I know there's no mechanism for updating this automatically.
@RolfBly @Karen5Lund @noondlyt I hope I am wrong but there are probably no legal arrangements that can prevent a big tech company taking things over (apart from gov regulations). All that a big tech company has to do is offer money and then gradually make an organisation dependent upon them for their budget. That gives them power over the non-profit.For example Mozilla is a non-profit free open source company, but it is effectively under the control of Google due to Google's donations
@SnowyCA @Anomnomnomaly According to tags.pub's website you can stop it sharing your posts by blocking the domain tags.pub or by including #NoBots in your profile. It seems to be a site boosting posts with particular hashtags to increase their reach, but it operates on an opt-out basis which means people are taken by surprise when their posts are boosted by it. It should probably be using opt-in instead so that only people who want extra reach are boosted.
@klu9 Yes, but the FediGroups.social provider (which is currently the main provider of these kinds of groups) also has moderation tools for screening posts and members, and options for hiding discussions etc.
@sam @punxsocial Mastodon does have a built-in scheduled posts system, but you have to access it through a third party app. More info at https://fedi.tips/scheduling-posts-on-mastodon/
