@NosirrahSec @cyberquixote @cR0w
I was deep in the backorifice rabbit hole once we got a cable modem. I had a PC with a S3 video card with a composite video out. I hooked it up to a VCR and a 6 hour tape on SLP, and started a scan of 24.0.0.0/8 (early comcast IPs)
I then got the tape in the morning and fast forwarded until there was a port open on 31337, cataloged it, then kept fast-forwarding...
this was way before I started using BSD rather than DOS/Windows3.1(1)
@kajer @cyberquixote @cR0w Holy shit that's actually kinda fucking ingenious.
I would never had thought of that as a kid. I did things very caveman-ish. I didn't learn the automation mindset until my early 20s when I got obsessed with "can I optimize this process" in EVERYTHING. Warehouse work, construction, meat cutting, sales; I was obsessed with automation/efficiency lol
I would have just sat there watching the scan like an absolute shitshow of a goblin lol

@unlofl Chrome store banned the toolbar addons IIRC

ASK the butthole for help!@kajer I had just forgotten how annoying it was that everything wanted you to install a toolbar and that people kept actually doing it, resulting in what basically was a virus...
I still haven't forgotten Bonsai Buddy.
