@Shirley @simonjust - but that's kinda one of those "Not for your Linux" things; everybody says to use Wine & Yabridge & while I'm sure you can probably force/kludge those things onto Fedora (my main candidate for now), they aren't "available" using the normal tools of that system. - and then comes the problem that if you coax things manually until they work, maintaining them is also now your own, manual job & it's probably going to get increasingly difficult over time...

@jwcph I told my grandfather in the 90s, when he was trying to get me on Linux*, that Linux was for people that worked on computers, Mac was for people who DID WORK ON computers, and Windows was for everyone else. It’s been a few decades but not as much has changed about this as it should. And yeah, despite knowing plenty about Apple’s failures… I still use a Mac. By and large it stays out of my way and lets me do my work. ‍️ *Gramps came up working on the big mainframes, for context.

@Raccoon @samadeleine It's not so much a matter of things missing - it's... well, like I said; the look & feel is as if built by someone who only saw MacOS from a distance, not someone who knows what it's really like & more importantly, why.

@jstatepost Oh, most certainly. If they can charge us & deliver nothing, they absolutely will - I've said before that if your only goal is profit you're not a business person, you're a robber. The only variable is how hard you try to hide your crimes; bank robbers don't, corporations do to various degrees.
