They are industrialized tools built to monetize convenience by destroying human agency. It’s a relief to see at least one browser team choosing humans over the investor hype cycle.

Yes, Startpage use the Google index, but not its sniffing, tracking nor logs and no AI, all behind proxy. I use it mostly for image search with better results as with others.

@Vivaldi I ditched Brave for Vivaldi last night. A peeve is that Vivaldi is missing the ALT+D shortcut to shift input focus to the address bar out of the box as other Chromium based browsers do, but that can be configured back in manually.

yes, Kagi is good, but in view of dozends of excelent search engines, I don't feel like using one that requires a registration and payment, with this it's no longer private.
With those I use I find all what I want, enough to contrast results.
