@Pepijn I voted zero because I've not been inside any. But I've been just outside at least two buildings. For some reason it didn't occur to me that they might be open for the public or interesting to enter.
@malcircuit Brother used to have a label maker for the PC. When you would attach it to the computer via USB, a USB drive would show up with the app and instructions. Launch the app, design your label, and print! Nothing to install or anything!
@jprjr @falcennial I'm fortunate that my employer encourages us to follow an "AI First" approach and periodically asks for feedback.I know people working at other companies where management has been given KPIs for adoption and individual token usage is monitored.tbh my most frequent use at work is pulling up Jira tickets without having to write my own JQL queries to get the same answer. But it's starting to become useful with day-to-day tasks.I work as a technical writer, and a lot of people I know who work in that discipline have lost their jobs because management in US tech companies often feel that AI means everyone can write docs now and nobody will be reading because they'll be using a chat bot. The worm will turn when businesses realise the value they've lost, but until then it's a bad time for us collectively because the deep subject matter expert with decades of experience is being supplanted by the shallow generalist that can work cross-functionally and churn out copy.
@anxietynectarr If you want to communicate with people on other servers, you can do that from your existing account. You don't need to join a server to communicate with its members. For example you and I are on different servers but we can talk like this You generally don't need accounts on other servers unless you specifically want to operate multiple accounts (for example a work account and personal account), or if there are special features on other servers you want to use.
@nixCraft its because the future of AI in reality has nothing to do with us being able to just manage emails and write content faster. it’s war. it’s policing and control. martial law. anyone who doesn’t see this is as dumb as they think we all are.
@2legged Do you have any sources other than this tweet? I am not finding any reporting on this. Lots about the new cabinet but nothing about the language of their meetings. I'd love to read more about it!
