@cwebber I know this doesn't explain everything, and it's a completely US perspective. But I noticed growing up that we mostly compartmentalize democracy in the US and practice it in very few ways. Mostly only in government. Even our legislative bodies constantly hand new powers over to the executive branches.(I realize this is a convenient strategy. It allows a legislator to run for or against an executive without taking responsibility themselves.)

@Zaia Sorry for my delay in replying!You can use lots of different apps on Android. Some good ones include Tusky, Fedilab and Moshidon.You can also use the official app (simply called "Mastodon") or you can use your server's website.By the way, most people who try the third party non-official apps prefer them to the official one. Mastodon was originally designed for third party apps, the official app only came later.

@trwnh@mastodon.social correct. I suppose the easiest way to communicate permission would be that the thread deletion has to come from the context owner. In my case the context owner is a category, so it'd be federating out the deletion on behalf of the moderators.

@aj42 Mine opslag er per default og mine svar er open , og det kan man godt gøre med en låst konto.Men jeg skal ikke kværulere! Jeg er mest optaget af detaljerne om hvad man kan teknisk, det er ikke fordi jeg mener du skal gøre noget bestemt

@askkatzeff Jeg ved det ikke rigtig. Vil gerne eksperimentere. Et sted at starte kunne være at have nogle bedre ord for den misbrug af tvetydighed. Det er jo en form for dog whistle (hundefløjte). Kunne der være nogle ord for det, når det specifikt handler om nazistiske suggestioner?
